$15 per child (Ages 2-5)
Join local Singer Songwriter/Actress/Nanny Mia Adams for fun and frolic with her trusty guitar, encouraging and guiding toddlers (and their grownups) to explore music & rhythm, instruments & singing, imagination & dramatic play, motor skills & dance, rhyming & poetry, props, and their own artistic voice. This time we'll explore the goofy side of Halloween with the likes of friendly witches, cats, bats, and ghosties: nothing too spooky, but in the spirit of pumpkin time!
Family Workshop in Kaka'ako: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
Sunday, November 2nd. 1pm-3pm
Location: 445 Cooke Street
$10 per family (Cost covers a family of 3. Adults must attend with children)
November 2nd is celebrated as "Dia de Los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead" in Meso-American culture. Instead of viewing the deceased as scary zombies or ghosts who haunt us, they are viewed as part of the community, awakened on this day to share celebrations with their loved ones. This holiday is celebrated with a procession and the making and displaying of altars to loved ones who have passed away. We can help our children to honor their ancestors and remember the life of someone who has departed (friend, family member, or even pet) by making an altar to them and having our own procession. We will be decorating our altars with paints, handmade paper flowers, and all kinds of colorful materials. Art Explorium is collaborating with artist Tara Compehos, and the Honolulu Biennial Foundation's Chain of Fire Exhibit (honolulubiennial.org/chain-of-fire) to run our first family workshop in the Chain of Fire Exhibition space in Kaka'ako.

Description
Nurturing tomorrows creative thinkers
Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every persons growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!

Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.

We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

General Information
Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!
