Kaimuki Public Library

The Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project is a collection of Chronicling America, which provides free public access to digitized American newspapers published from 1836 to 1922. Alice Kim, a graduate research assistant and digitization coordinator, will conduct this one-hour presentation which will feature topics of interest from Hawaii newspapers and demonstrate search strategies on Chronicling America's newspaper database. The end of the presentation will included a question & answer session for participants. The University of Hawaii at Manoa runs the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project, which are sponsored by the Library of Congress and National Endowment for the Humanities. This one-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of Kaimuki Public Library and is suitable for ages 12 and older.

Library Cards
You may apply for a library card at any Hawaii public library. The initial card is FREE for Hawaii residents. Cards are also free for military personnel and their dependents with a copy of orders. The resident card replacement fee is $5.00. Resident library cards must be renewed every five years. There is no charge for the renewal.

Loan Renewals:
On person with library material or call 733-8422, then press "0" -- have your library material with you when calling. For online renewals, use www.librarieshawaii.org and "my account" and your library card no.
