Hawaiian Electric Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

Hawaiian Electric and its partners will give away 3,000 trees and shrubs on Saturday, November 5, at six locations across O‘ahu.

At each giveaway location you can select from popular fruit or spice trees, flowering shrubs, and native plants. Featured for the first time are dwarf bottle brush, gardenia Kula, hanging red hibiscus, ‘ilima Kula, māmaki, miracle berry, tea, and white Kadota fig.

Our partners, including certified arborists and volunteers from Hawaiian Electric, Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Program, U.H. Urban Garden Center, Wahiawā Botanical Garden, and Waimea Valley, will be on hand to answer your questions about growing plants. They'll also provide you with information on planting a tree and siting it properly to avoid safety hazards and to provide cooling shade for your home.
