The Magic continues after Christmas day! Illusionists will mystify!
Expect lots of surprizes and audience participation at the "Hawaii Magic Festival."
Award-winning Magic & Variety acts from around the Islands appear in the 5th Annual event. Doors open at 6pm with strolling sleight of hand performers, Stage show at 7pm. First-come seating. (Suggestion: Have dinner or a snack prior to attending. No food allowed in theater.)
This magic show is a great event for families to enjoy an evening out together at the Kaimuki High School's performing arts theater.
It's also a great event for introducing young audiences to live entertainment - children will be absolutely enthralled with the variety of junior and adult magicians and the unique mix of comedy and magic.
Kelvin Chun is an award winning educator, magician, balloon sculptor and kite enthusiast. He is best known for his educational technology and mathematics teacher background, stage magic, inventive balloon sculptures and kites.
"I love performing magic," Chun says. "I have the best seat in the house because I get to see all of the kids' faces as they smile in amazement and laugh hysterically.
The show is designed for the entire family.
Chun's national prestigious awards include being recognized by the Disney American Teacher Award, the All USA Today 2000 First Teacher Team, the George Lucas Educational Foundation, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and the Society of American Magicians. He has performed and presented at numerous conventions and conferences and provided staff development workshops and courses in the field of mathematics, magic, balloons, kites, traveling and emerging technologies and their impact on learning at all ages.
"The Hawaii Magic Festival" is brought to you by the International Brotherhood of Magicians' Ring 185 - Hawaii Magicians Society. The children of Hawaii will long remember the magic, laughter, and seeing Hawaii's magicians!
The history of magic in Hawaii dates back to the 1940s. The official club started in 1949.
The International Brotherhood of Magicians is the world's largest organization of magicians, with members in 88 countries. Founded in 1922 by Len Vintus and Gene Gordon, the I.B.M.'s membership today includes the top professional magicians and thousands of enthusiastic hobbyists from all walks of life.
