HSPLS will Conduct System Maintenance on January 9, 2015

The Hawaii State Public Library System will conduct a brief system maintenance period after all libraries are closed on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All library services accessed through our website will be temporarily unavailable.

"We apologize to our patrons for this brief interruption of service while our library staff completes a necessary electrical power upgrade," said State Librarian Richard Burns.

Hawaii's Public Libraries Observe 2015 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Holiday

All public libraries will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2015 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Holiday.

Fourteen libraries normally closed on Mondays will also be closed on Tuesday, January 20 in observance of the holiday: Aina Haina Public Library, McCully-Moiliili Public Library, Wahiawa Public Library, Waialua Public Library, Waikiki-Kapahulu Public Library; Waipahu Public Library; Island of Hawaii - Hilo Public Library, Kailua-Kona Public Library, Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library; Maui - Kahului Public Library, Kihei Public Library, Lahaina Public Library; Kauai - Hanapepe Public Library and Princeville Public Library.

Library Cards
You may apply for a library card at any Hawaii public library. The initial card is FREE for Hawaii residents. Cards are also free for military personnel and their dependents with a copy of orders. The resident card replacement fee is $5.00. Resident library cards must be renewed every five years. There is no charge for the renewal.

Loan Renewals:
On person with library material or call 733-8422, then press "0" -- have your library material with you when calling. For online renewals, use www.librarieshawaii.org and "my account" and your library card no.

Book Drops -- for after business hours -- one by the front door or drive-up book drop in the upper parking lot

Friends of the Kaimuki Library -- support group for the library
