Little Artists Classes are !

Little Artists is a program designed for toddlers and young children ages 2-5 to explore the world through music, theater, and art. We are currently offering these classes once a month on Friday mornings. Our instructor, Mia Adams, is an early childhood educator, actress, singer and artist. Here's the lineup for the next few months:

Valentine's Love Bugs: Friday, February 9, 9:30-10:30
Big Top Circus: Friday, March 9, 9:30-10:30
Cooking Up Fun: Friday, March 23, 9:30-10:30

Classes are $15 and spaces are limited so please register soon.

Workshops for Ages 5 & Up

Looking for February workshops for your love bugs age 5 or older? There are just a few spots left in this Saturday's Sock Puppet Pals class. Also in the February lineup: zoom into fun with Rubber Band Racers... cross off Valentine's gift shopping from your list at our One-Stop Valentine's Day Shop workshop... create a beautiful underwater seascape using watercolors, oil pastels and salt in Super Sea Creatures... make posable paper creatures in Animated Animals... create lovely Decoupage Vases and choose your favorite cartoon character and create a Ceramic Character Mug!

Most workshops are for ages 5 or 6 and up. Classes are usually Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Find our workshop list and descriptions online and be sure to pre-register soon as spaces are limited.

Gong Hey Fat Choy! Celebrate the Year of the Dog with us at Ward Village's South Shore Market. We love South Shore Market because it is filled with local designers and businesses. Art Explorium will be at New Wave Friday in February, a fun, family-friendly event featuring keiki activities, live entertainment, shopping exclusives, food, libations, and more. We will be there on Friday, February 16, from 5pm to 9pm doing earth-friendly Chinese New Year art activities. FREE to the public.

Not Into the Super Bowl? We Got You Covered With Extra Open Studio Hours This Weekend

We added some extra Open Studio hours this weekend so drop by for some creative fun! In addition to our signature Trash-to-Treasure Station which is a creative young person's dream come true, we have a couple extra fun projects out this weekend: Bottle Cap Lady Love Bugs and DIY Stickers.

On Saturday we didn't book a Birthday pARTy in the morning so we added an extra Open Studio from 10am - 1:00pm.
Not into the Super Bowl? On Sunday we extended our Open Studio hours so we will be here from 10am - 3:00pm.

We are so excited to announce that we hired a new Birthday pARTY Coordinator, April Sham (top left photo). April is a printmaker, art teacher, and all-around great person. Are you looking for Workshops?

We will offer two keiki art workshops this weekend with fantastic instructors:

Super Sea Creatures

Saturday, February 17, 2:30-4:00pm, ages 5 & up, $15.

We'll draw and design underwater seascapes and fill them with fun creatures. Then we'll add a bit of color with watercolor paints and oil pastels. Finally, we'll top off our paintings with epsom salt to give them a bubbly sea foam look.

Animated Animals

Sunday, February 18, 2:30-4:00pm, ages 5 & up, $15.

We will use all kinds of fun paper to create adorable 2-D animals that move and bend. Once we make them we can take them home to play with them, bend and pose them, and make up creative stories with them.

Looking for Affordable, Flexible Drop-In Hours for All Ages?

Open Studio is just the thing for you! During Open Studio hours you are welcome to drop by and try our creative art stations for just $5 per person. No pre-registration is required. In addition to our signature Trash-to-Treasure Station which is a creative young person's dream come true, we have a couple extra fun projects out this weekend: DIY Olympic Medals & Chinese New Year Lanterns.

On Saturday we didn't book a Birthday pARTy in the morning so we added an extra Open Studio from 10am - 1pm.
On Sunday we also have our regular Open Studio time from 10am - 1pm.
On Monday (Presidents' Day Holiday) we will be open so come on by between 9am-12pm and 2-5pm.

There is no formal instruction during Open Studio and an adult is required to supervise keiki. For a complete listing of hours check our online Calendar.

Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!

Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.

We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
