CELEBRATE YOGA HAWAII 14TH ANNIVERSARY !
Art Exhibit by Dieter Runge -- All evening
Check out Dieters awesome hand-carved wood cut prints of Ganesha and the Shri Yantra -- beautiful pieces for meditation! His artwork will be for sale. Please ask for a price sheet.
Dieter Runge lives and works on Oahu, where he makes art and music, teaches taiji and yoga and cooks Ayurvedic food, which he also teaches. He is vice president of the Honolulu Printmakers and in 2012 taught printmaking workshops in Colorado and New York city. He has an MFA in painting, (University of Hawaii, 2008), and bachelors in psychology, and art From UH (University of Hawaii, 2003). Dieter grew up in Germany (1949-78), lived in New York City, 1978-88, the US Virgin Islands, (1988-90) and Hawaii since 1990. He has studied qi gong and taiji with Mantak Chia, T.K. Shih, Jannette Chi and Zeng Chen Dong, and Yoga and Ayurveda with Myra Lewin. While living in New York, Dieter wrote, recorded and produced several vinyl records and realized various videos. At present Dieter paints, makes wood block prints, writes and records new music and plays with his current band Alice Neel.
6-7PM -- Free Intro to Yoga
Bring a friend who has pain or an injury to our class focusing on the healing power of this ancient practice.
7:00-8:15PM -- Live Music Vinyasa Flow with Maya Siklai
Maya will teach a playful and creative vinyasa flow class set to the live music of our very own Kirtan Walas (Join them the following evening, Sat Oct 19th from 7-9:30PM for Kirtan Mantra sing-along!)
All evening 6-9PM -- Art exhibit, Henna Tattoos, DJ Seph1 and Potluck Pupus!
Stay to check out Deiter Runge's awesome Ganesh prints (on display and available for purchase from the artist from Oct 14th- 20th), get a Henna tattoo, check out an exhibit of local artist Cale Mechler's hand drawn graphic prints and share pupus with your neighbors!
6-9PM Music on the sidewalks!
KTUH DJ Seph1 will be on Koko Head Ave spinning soul, funk and reggae jams!
Other local musicians will play rock and folk music live on the streets of Kaimuki. Check out their tunes as you walk from one business to the next!
Henna Body Art! 6-9PM (provided by Hau'oli Henna)
Get a temporary, all natural Henna body art design by Hau'oli Henna. This ancient traditional art form has been used for centuries to adorn the hands and feet of Indian brides and performers as well as to mark special holidays and ceremonies. These fun and beautiful designs are created with completely natural and safe plant pigments that stain the exterior layers of skin and lasts for 1-2weeks.
Henna Body Art by Hau'oli Henna 6-9pm
These traditional Indian temporary tattoos are made using the paste of the Henna plant which has a natural red/brown pigment that will dye your skin where the paste is laid down in intricate patterns. Pick one of artist Kiyomi's designs or tell her what you want for a customized design just for you!

Founded in 1999, Yoga Hawaii is one of Oahu's first yoga studios and offers authentic yoga instruction in various established styles of yoga and levels of classes to suit everyone in the community.We believe that everyone can benefit from yoga and are regularly adding classes to cater to special needs.
