• "Team Celebrity" Event will be Presented at Kaimuki Library

Yukie Shiroma, a dancer, choreographer, storyteller, and theater artist, will present "Team Celebrity," a free program to celebrate Teen Read Week 2010, on Tuesday, December 7 at 3 p.m. in the Adult Reading Section. A troupe of masked performers will assist Shiroma in this program which is suitable for ages 12 and older.

Shiroma will reflect on the concept of "celebrity" and suggest answers to the following questions:

• Who or what defines celebrity?
  
• What makes us want to be famous?
  
• What are the consequences of fame?

In addition, Shiroma and her assistants will share several short vignettes in a choreographed mime performance to encourage discussions about the timely topic of fame in the 21st century.
