ESPN 1420 Sports Festival set for June 30



(HONOLULU) – Honolulu radio station ESPN 1420 will present its second ESPN 1420 Sports Festival presented by Kaiser Permanente on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Neal Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall in Honolulu.

The family-oriented festival will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, and free to children aged 15 and under.

The event will include a variety of free sports demonstrations and clinics, including Speed & Quickness sessions and a “Keiki Combine” put on by the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance. Other activities will include football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, golf, mini-golf, inline hockey, rock climbing and a Kaiser Permanente Thrive Zone. In addition, there will be professional wrestling exhibitions featuring the stars of Action Zone Wrestling.

Other scheduled highlights include live entertainment, prize giveaways, and a sports marketplace featuring about 75 vendors promoting their sports-related products and services.

Proceeds from the event will benefit non-profit youth organizations in Hawaii.

The ESPN 1420 Sports Festival debuted in July 2010 with a daylong event at Kakaako Gateway Park.
