Kamehameha’s 83rd Annual Ho‘olaule‘a will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The honor and privilege of organizing and hosting this wonderful event has been placed on the Sophomores, the Class of 2015. This year’s Ho‘olaule‘a theme is P p kahi i Holomua (Unite to Move Forward). This simple, yet everlasting idea relates to the people of Hawai‘i in many ways and reaches through the years. Working together with a united purpose is the essence of Hawaiian life: the canoe moves faster; the lo‘i is harvested more quickly; and community projects get done more efficiently when we come together.

Hawaiians have faced many challenges throughout the years. By working together we have faced these challenges and prospered. On a canoe each paddler has to pull together on command in order to move forward quickly. P p kahi i Holomua is a theme used by sports teams, classes, and groups because it captures the essence of people joining in a common purpose. Ho‘olaule‘a 2013 is a chance for the entire community to gather and celebrate Pauahi’s legacy. Thanks to the efforts of many dedicated people - Kamehameha Schools has been able to reach out and touch the lives of children and adults across the world. Join us in this celebration of life and love; of music, food and laughter on the Kap lama Campus as we P p kahi i Holomua (Unite to Move Forward).
