The hugely popular Star of the Sea Church and Schools" 8^th Annual Food and Wine Festival will be held on Saturday, May 4^th from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on the school grounds (4470 Aliikoa Street). Olelo Community Media will be broadcasting this year"s event live at 6:30 p.m. Spend an evening as you "Light Up The Night" sampling fabulous cuisine and wine from twenty-two of Hawaii"s hottest chefs and restaurants. Menu items include Chef Michi Watarai"s thai beef salad and braised beef short ribs on a bed of ginger coconut brown rice, Chef Anthony Vierra"s delicious bread pudding, Ninja Sushi"s Superman and Tiger Maki and more.

This year"s restaurants include: A Cup of Tea, Adega Portuguesa, Big City Diner, Catering Kalima"s, Cooking Fresh for You, Da Spot Health Foods & Juices, Dave & Buster"s, Elite Catering, 5-0 Hawaiian Style Smoked Ribs, Gourmet Goods, Grand Café & Bakery, Gyotaku, JJ"s French Bistro, Kahala Nui, Kona Brewing Company, Maile"s Thai Bistro, Ninja Sushi, Opulicious, Romano"s Macaroni Grill, Ruth"s Chris Steakhouse, and Soul Patrol.

Growing in size each year, we anticipate 2,000 people will attend this year"s Festival. Bring the entire family and join us for an evening of fun-filled festivities. Guests will be treated to live ntertainment by Kona Winds featuring Mary B. and see a performance by Greg Gabaylo, Hawaii"s astest juggler and #1 hypnosis show. For the keiki, there will be games and rides in the Keiki Corner and adults can pick up a great gift from the Silent Auction area including travel packages, gift baskets, jewelry, paintings, food and wine items, baked goods, and gift certificates.

All proceeds from the Food Festival will benefit the Star of the Sea Church and Schools. Proceeds from previous events have provided classroom smart boards, playground equipment, and new computers for the children as well as providing funds throughout the year to assist with the Star of the Sea Youth and Homeless Ministries in our community.

Get your tickets early. Cost is $60 per person (or $70 at the event), and $25 for children ages 3-13. VIP reserved tables are available at $1,200 and $3,000. For ticket information please call 734-0396 or email ehffinfo@gmail.com
