The Kikunobu Dance Company, Inc.`s 15th Dance Concert , is dedicated to the 50th memorial anniversary of the late Onoe Kikunojo I; introduction of Onoe Bokusetsu (aka. Onoe Kikunojo II); introduction of Onoe Kikunojo III (4th generation headmaster); introduction of Onoe Kikunobu`s 13th professional name grantee, and celebrating Onoe Kikunobu`s 50th anniversay since establishing the Kikunobu Dance Co. Inc. in Hawaii.
The concert is an authentic artistic presentation of Nihon Buyo performances parallel to those experienced in Japan. Participating artists include Hawaii artists: Onoe Kikunobu and the members of the Kikunobu Dance Co. Inc.; and Japanese artists: Onoe Bokusetsu, Onoe Kikunojo III - 4th Genertion Headmaster of Onoe Ryu in Tokyo, Onoe Kikushiro - Master dancer and assistant to Onoe Bokusetsu and Kikunojo III, Onoe Umenosuke III - master make-up artist and stage assistant specialist, Onoe Kikuyuki - assistant, Takamori Takao - costume consultant and speicalist for Kobayashi Costume Company in Kyoto, and Osawa Kanehisa - President and master wig designer of Osawa Wig Company in Tokyo.
A production of the Kikunobu Dance Company, Inc. and the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College. Partial funding provided by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
