UH MANOA SUMMER SESSIONS WELCOMES FAMILIES ONTO CAMPUS FOR A FREE "SUSTAINABLE SUMMER DAY" FESTIVAL
On Sunday, June 26, 2016, from 11.00am-3.00pm, UH Manoa Summer Sessions, administered by Outreach College, will host a free festival with environmental learning and conservation-relatedfun. Kids andadults can participate inhands-on and interactive activities; enjoy live music and healthy food options; challenge themselves in disc golf; and relax with tai chi, yoga, and meditation. Local sustainability and conservation organizations will be represented with exhibitor booths and information. A walking tour of the campus - recently designated an accredited arboretum - will identify endangered plant life. From 12:30-6:15pm, the KIDS FIRST! Sustainable Summer '16 Film Fest will screenfree environmental movies and animation from around the world for children and youth ages 2-18. (see attachment)
The Sustainable Summer Day kicks off UHM Summer Sessions' Sustainable Summer '16 programs and eventsinadvance of the IUCN World Conservation Congress Hawai‘i 2016. The special summer programincludescredit courses (online and on campus), certificate programs, hands-on environmental activities, films, lectures, and the SustainableSummer Day.
