SOEST Open House

Hosted by the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, held at 1680 East West Rd and surrounding buildings, October 20 8:30am-2:00pm and October 21 10:00am-2:00pm. Free to the public. Learn about volcanoes, tsunamis, El Niño, planetary exploration, hurricanes, coastal erosion, marine ecosystems, and so much more! The SOEST Open House presents a diverse array of entertaining and educational hands-on activities and demonstrations, which highlight the research conducted by our faculty, students, and staff. Stay tuned to this website for more information about exhibits that will be offered!

Your students and families will learn about volcanoes, tsunamis, El Niño, planetary exploration, hurricanes, coastal erosion, and marine ecosystems, to mention just a few topics, through a variety of videos, posters, and interactive demonstrations. They will visit state-of-the-art laboratories and hear about cutting-edge research from the scientists who are making the new discoveries!

• Please use the Group Reservation Form to reserve a spot for your group of 10 or more.

Information for Exhibitors and Volunteers:

• Exhibitor Registration Form
  Please use the Exhibitor Registration Form to register your hands-on activity or demonstration. Exhibit coordinators, you can order t-shirts for you and your volunteers at the end of that form.

• Volunteer Application
• If you are not already committed to volunteering for an exhibit, this application is for you. We need all of you to engage with future leaders and the public at large! Please complete the Volunteer Application and the organizing committee will do its best to accommodate your request.
