The theatre is giving away a pair of tickets every day until Christmas on its Instagram.
The unrefined Eliza Doolittle, a rough Cockney girl, meets Colonel Pickering and Henry Higgins in Covent Garden where she sells flowers. When Higgins remarks that he could help Eliza speak properly and raise her status, Pickering challenges him to do so and Eliza takes him up on the offer. Though difficult and frustrating for both Eliza and Higgins at first, the lessons soon begin to work wonders, and produce results that neither could predict.
The Diamond Head Theatre cast includes: Anna Young as Eliza Doolittle, Garrett Hols and David Young as Henry Higgins, Betty Bolton as Mrs. Higgins, Andrew Erwin as Freddie Eynsford-Hill, Lisa Fosbender as Mrs. Pierce, Eli Foster as Colonel Pickering, and Miles Phillips as Alfred Doolittle.
Nearing its 60th anniversary since its Broadway debut, My Fair Lady was adapted by Alan Jay Lerner (book and lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music) from the 1913 play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. Beloved songs include: "Wouldn't it be Loverly?," "With a Little Bit of Luck," "I Could Have Danced All Night" and "On the Street Where You Live." The show set a record for the longest Broadway of its timeand has enjoyed several revivals. My Fair Lady won six Tony awards, including Best Musical, and was later adapted into a film in 1964 starring Audrey Hepburn.
