                      Are you looking for a way to reduce fabric waste or extend the life of a favorite, well-loved garment? Join us for a visible mending workshop where you’ll be introduced to a variety of techniques, resources, and inspiration.
                      We’ll look at:
                    • Equipment & supplies
                    • Overview of techniques
                    • Planning strategies
                    • Resources & inspiration
                      Please bring your clothing you would like to end along with your own fabric you would like to use for patching.  Feel free to bring your own sewing supplies such as sewing needles and thread.  We will also have available for use sewing needles and thread but are on a limited supply.  Registration for this program is advised, as seating is limited.  Please contact the Kaimukī Public Library at (808)733-8422 or come in person at the Adult Reference Desk to register.

                      Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

                      Obon Dance Workshop!

                      Bon Season is upon us!  All are welcome to come and learn dances that are often danced at the bon dance; which for Hawai’i will be until October.  This program is fun for all ages and will be held in the Adult Reading Room!
                      For those of you who aren’t familiar with Bon Dances or Bon Odori, it is an annual Japanese Dance Festival that occurs during Obon season in the Summer.  It is a celebration of family, heritage, tradition, a celebration of life, and a way to honor ones’ ancestors.  Children under 12 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
                      Please bring water, a sweat towel, and comfortable footwear as we will be on our feet for most of the program.  Mahalo to the Hawaiʻi Shin Kobukai for doing this program for us!  Due to the limited space, Pre-registration for this program is advised.                       Sing Like Nobody’s Watching-Karaoke Night!

Attendees can join Kaimukī Public Library for a night of fun and food, as we sing and reminisce with songs from the 80s and 90s. Library will provide mics and sound system.

Library Cards
You may apply for a library card at any Hawaii public library. The initial card is FREE for Hawaii residents. Cards are also free for military personnel and their dependents with a copy of orders. The resident card replacement fee is $5.00. Resident library cards must be renewed every five years. There is no charge for the renewal.
