CHAMINADE UNIVERSITY SIGNS ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
WITH A.T. STILL UNIVERSITY’S ARIZONA SCHOOL
OF HEALTH SCIENCES PHYSICAL THERAPY PROGRAM

HONOLULU—December 14, 2011—Chaminade University announced that an articulation agreement, which will enable Hawaii students to pursue doctor of physical therapy degrees, has been signed with A.T. Still University (ATSU) of Health Sciences: Arizona School of Health Sciences (ASHS) Physical Therapy Program.

“This agreement gives our students preferred access in achieving their goals to pursue postgraduate degrees in healthcare, in particular to become doctors of physical therapy,” said Brother Bernard Ploeger, S.M., Ph.D., president of Chaminade University.

Ploeger and Chaminade’s associate provost, Patricia Lee-Robinson, met with ATSU-ASHS dean, Barbara Maxwell, P.T., D.P.T.’06, MSc, Cert. THE, and ATSU-ASHS Physical Therapy chair, Annlee Burch, Ed.D., M.P.H., P.T., this month for a tour of ATSU’s Arizona campus and to sign the agreement.

“By partnering with universities such as Chaminade we demonstrate the importance of recognizing potential and capacity for achieving goals to become doctors of physical therapy for striving students from diverse backgrounds. The signed articulation represents our dedication as a program, school, and University to diversity and access to graduate health education for underrepresented groups,” said Dr. Burch.

Students who graduate from Chaminade with a Bachelor's degree and major, fulfilling specific ATSU program requirements are eligible for priority consideration. ATSU Doctor of Physical Therapy Program will reserve four seats annually for Chaminade graduates meeting program requirements.
