Kaimuki Third Friday at the Art Explorium
Friday, October 18th: 6pm-9pm
1142 Koko Head Ave
$5 per person
We will be offering Open Studio hours as part of Third Fridays
Kaimuki, a monthly celebration of our neighborhood and community. In
honor of fashion month we will be making bags, aprons, and woven art, and other accessories from old t-shirts.
Halloween Puppets
Sunday, October 20th: 1-3pm
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
$15 per student (All Ages)
In this workshop your child will create one-of-a kind puppets using recycled material, house hold goods, felt, yarn, ribbon, glitter, and much more. They will be able to conduct their own story and bring it to life with their very own three dimensional puppets, accessories, and back drops.
Making Monsters!
Sunday, October 27th: 1-3pm
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
$15 per student (Ages 5 and up)
Students will learn how to draw their favorite monsters, using simple geometric forms. Classic monsters will be considered, and what they sometimes represent, and the class will create an original, Hawaiian monster!
Exploring Watercolors
Sunday, November 3rd: 1pm-3pm.
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
$15 Per Student (Ages 4 and up)
Create and play with water colors, discover new hues and values, mix and let the colors flow. Learn more about different watercolor techniques, like wet on wet or wax resist. Find your answers in a fun and playful way and create your own beautiful water color greeting cards to take home.
Dance Painting!
Sunday, November 10th: 1-3pm.
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
$15 per student (All Ages)
Movement Art is a fantastical exploration where body, mind, artist and canvas come together to create live art! We will be using our bodies-in-motion to "dance paint" on large scale paper. Discover your outer-movement artist with freestyle dancing, and your inner-movement artist with music inspired drawing and choreography.
Thanksgiving Decorations
Sunday, November 17th: 1-2:30pm
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
$15 per student (All Ages)
Gobble Gobble it's that time of year again to show thanks for everything that you are grateful for. Your child will be creating beautiful, hand made center pieces to adorn your thanksgiving table. Most of our creations will be made from either natural or recycled materials.
Shippo: Japanese Enameling
Sunday, November 24th: 1pm-3pm
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
$20 per student (Ages 5 and up)
The ancient art of Japanese enameling (Shippo) is about applying enamel color on a metal base. You will learn to create jewel-like enamel artwork such as keychains, magnets, boxes, etc. Experienced participants may also have the opportunity to participate in an International Enameling Art Exhibition in Tokyo.

Monday and Thursday from 9-12 am
Monday through Friday from 2-5 pm
Saturday from 1-4 pm

Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!
Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.
We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!
