Friday is Kaimuki Third Friday
We will offer Open Studio hours from 5-8pm for Third Fridays Kaimuki, a monthly celebration of our Kaimuki community.
August Keiki Art Workshops at Art Explorium
August After School Art: Art Around the World
Thursdays in August: 4pm-5:30pm
$50 for the month of August or $15 per workshop day (Ages 7 and up)
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
Join us on a trip around the world as we explore different cultures, time periods, and art. We will travel through Japan, Greece, Guatemala, and Australia making fans and lanterns, scratch pots, weaving, and painting. Registration is required.
Little Felted Animals
Sunday, August 10th. 1pm-2:30pm
$15 per child (Ages 7 and up)
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
Join us in this fun fiber arts class to learn how to make felted creations from wool. We will be using a felting needle to sculpt and mold each piece, combining different colors into one animal. Registration is required.
Paint Like Van Gogh
Sunday, August 17th: 1pm-2:30pm
$15 per student (Ages 5 and up)
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
Discover the works of the famous artist Vincent van Gogh and how he created his masterpieces. Learn about painting with tempera paint, how to mix and blend colors learn all about tints and shades, texture and other elements of art. Registration is required.
Rainbow Dreams
Tuesday, August 19th. 9:30am-10:30am
$15 per student (2 to 5 years)
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. These colors have life, movement, and magical qualities, that we as artists can't be without! W eill be doing fingerpainting and rainbow movement.
Woven Planters
Sunday, August 24th: 1pm-2:30pm
$15 per student (Ages 6 and up)
At the Art Explorium: 1142 Koko Head Ave
In this woven workshop we will learn the history of weaving in different cultures and learn several different patterns of weaving at different difficulty levels using colorful yarn.
Open Studio Hours
Drop by our studio for casual art fun! We set up the art stations and you & your kids can dabble in them. We change our stations weekly, putting out 2 new art activities each Wednesday
Mon, Tues AND Thurs, 9 am - 12 pm (we added Tuesday mornings just for June & July)
Mon thru Fri, 2 pm - 5 pm
Sat, 1 pm - 4 pm
$5 for each person participating. Drop-in, no pre-registration required.

Monday and Thursday from 9-12 am
Monday through Friday from 2-5 pm
Saturday from 1-4 pm

Nurturing tomorrow's creative thinkers
Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!
Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.
We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!

Ample metered parking is available on the street or in the lot behind our building.
