Get Your Holidays On at These Workshops!
From Natural Holiday Decorations to Kite Making, from Printmaking to Miniature Terrariums, we have a dazzling array of upcoming workshops. If you are looking for beautiful and creative gift ideas, these classes will not disappoint. Find out more about our Sunday afternoon classes with various artists and our Thursday After School Art classes on our web site.
And for our youngest friends ages 2-5 we offer our Little Artists classes on Tuesday mornings. This month we will explore some super fun themes like Candyland, Bubble Ballet, Superhero Dance-Off, and more! $15, pre-registration required. .
Attention Homeschoolers! We are offering a Painting Workshop especially for homeschool children ages 7 & up on Thursday, December 3 from 10am-11:30am. $15 per child, pre-registration is required.
Kaimuki Parade, Guest Artist Aunty Lani & More Open Studio Updates
Art Explorium's Open Studio is a great place for kids (and adults!) to get creative for the holidays. Make Art Explorium your first stop for creating earth-friendly decorations, wrapping paper, gifts, and more! It only costs $5 to use our materials and space, and we have a variety of Open Studio times to fit your schedule.
- Thursday, December 3: This is the evening of the Kaimuki Christmas Parade, a beloved annual neighborhood tradition. This year instead of walking in the parade, we have decided to park our trusty Art Explorium parade wagon. But we will participate by offering Open Studio that afternoon/evening from 2pm-8pm so that families in the neighborhood can stop by and do some fun art activities! $5, no pre-registration required, just come on by!
- Thursday, December 10: Our favorite reuse artist Aunty Lani will be here as a guest this morning from 10am-12pm during our morning Open Studio. She will be sharing two super cute mouse activities. One is a toilet paper mouse craft (photo above right), and the other is a fun flying mouse balloon activity that the kids are sure to love.
- Sundays: We also wanted to announce that we have increased our Sunday Open Studio hours so now we are open from 10am-2pm. There's a little more time for you to get your fill of weekend art activities!
Open Studio Hours
Drop by our studio for casual art fun! We set up the art stations and you & your kids can dabble in them. We change our stations weekly, putting out 2 new art activities each Wednesday
Mon, Tues AND Thurs, 9 am - 12 pm
Mon thru Fri, 2 pm - 5 pm
Sat, 1 pm - 4 pm
Sunday Open Studio hours from 10am-1pm
$5 for each person participating. Drop-in, no pre-registration required.
Sew Darn Amazing
It really is amazing to see the projects our sewing students are completing these days! These skirts are just one example, and there are so many other fun projects coming up this month, from pouches to pillows to stockings to banners and more! For information on our sewing program with the wonderful ladies of ME+U Hawaii.

We just got some really cute gift certificates in stock (available in all denominations), and we have our ARTIST t-shirts in both keiki and adult sizes. Also keep an eye out for our brand-new keiki-sized aprons which are at the printer's and should be ready this week.

Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!
Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.
We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!
