Upcoming Workshops

Check out our great workshops coming up in December. Some of these are close to filling up so if you are interested be sure to sign up today!

Workshops for Keiki Ages 2-5: On most Friday mornings from 9:30-10:30am we offer Little Artists Workshops for keiki ages 2-5. Little Artists is a program that encourages toddlers and young children to explore the world through music, movement, stories and visual art. This month we have classes on December 14 (Christmas Excitement!), 21 (Catching Sunshine & Starlight) and 28 (New Year's Countdown to Partytown). Cost is $15 per workshop.

Workshops for Keiki Ages 5 & Up: Upcoming classes for elementary age children include lots of holiday-themed projects! We also just added a bunch of classes for January and February. For information and to register online visit our Workshops with Various Artists Page. Cost ranges from $15-$25 per workshop.

Workshop Registration/Cancellation Policy Changes

* Please see below for information on some important policy changes we will be implementing in our workshop signup and cancellation policy effective January 1, 2019. *

Art Explorium Pop-Up & Bookfair at Barnes & Noble

Find Art Explorium at Barnes & Noble Ala Moana on Sunday, December 16 for an Art Pop-Up and Bookfair Fundraiser! When you shop at Barnes & Noble that day be sure to tell the cashier you would like to support Art Explorium and a portion of your purchase will be donated to us. We will also have some special (& free) activities going on throughout the day:

9:45am: Story-time featuring some of our favorite art-themed books
10:00am-12:00pm: Holiday-themed art activities with Art Explorium
1:00-3:00pm: Extra special art project with Derek Larson, a visiting artist from Savannah, GA, who is currently in Hawaii with the TRADES Artist in Residence Program. Each keiki's drawings will become part of a larger group animation that will be shared online with all participants. *This particular activity is for keiki ages 5 & up. We will have other drawing activities available for keiki under 5.*

Our Hours & Holiday Schedule

We wish you the happiest of holidays and hope you enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Just FYI we will be taking a few days off during the holidays as well:

Monday, December 24: Closed

Tuesday, January 1: Closed

The best way to find out about our schedule is to check our Online Calendar. We try to be consistent but sometimes things change or we add extra activities.

*Please note that our schedule on third party web sites such as Google and Yelp is not always accurate... it is more difficult for us to make updates to those sites, plus their models don't fit what we do super well. Mahalo!

Workshop Registration/Cancellation Policy Change

Effective January 1, 2019, please note the following important changes to our workshop policies:

Payment must be made in full at the time of workshop registration.
Registration fees will be fully refunded for cancellations made at least one week in advance of the workshop. Otherwise, if your child cannot attend the workshop, please let us know at least 24 hours before the start of your class and we will hold your payment as an Art Explorium credit for a future workshop or Open Studio.
If cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the start of your class, no refunds or class credits will be given.

Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!

Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.

We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.

We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!
