COVID-19 News and Updates
Saint Louis School news and updates in regards to COVID-19.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
--Romans 15:13
Aloha mai kākou e ka ‘Ohana Kāna Lui,
You, our Crusader ‘ohana, remain at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers. In light of the most recent public health recommendations and guidelines released by the federal government, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Hawai‘i State Department of Health, our administrators have decided to close our campus from March 30th - April 17th and move to an online learning platform. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 impact on our state and will provide you with frequent updates regarding the return of students to campus or the possibility of extending the online learning platform for the remainder of the school year.
Please know that much thought and prayer was involved in making this decision. We understand the hardship that a campus closure may have on our students and families, and we appreciate your understanding. Our faculty and staff are committed to presenting your son(s) with a quality education through our own unique online platform.
What Does a Campus Closure Involve?
The campus will be closed for all school activities, including athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions. In the event that ILH resumes spring sports prior to April 17th, we will adjust accordingly. Online classes will begin on Monday, March 30th. To prepare for the 13 instructional days of virtual learning, Saint Louis School faculty will participate in training and planning sessions from March 23rd - 25th, meeting in groups of less than 10 as recommended by the federal government to promote social distancing. Saint Louis School's Distance Education Plan (DEP) will be posted on our website on March 20th. In that document, families will receive information regarding our plan to provide personalized teacher and counselor support, daily prayers, online tutoring, and important contact information to help students and parents with any questions that may arise.
We are so grateful for our Crusader ‘ohana, and thank you for your cooperation in support of this effort. We continue to pray for the health and safety of our students, families, faculty, and staff.
