Art Exporium Version 2.0
- Tweet
Dear Art Explorium Community,
We hope you are well and we thank the many friends who have reached out to us during these difficult times. As you may know, because the safety of our community, staff, volunteers, and instructors is our highest priority, our physical doors have been closed since March. We have used the past six months to focus on some other projects, such as creating and sharing online art video tutorials and earth-friendly art lesson plans. We hope you and your family are taking advantage of these free resources from home.
We have also taken this unique opportunity to think carefully about Art Explorium's next steps. Our lease is up for renewal in early 2021, and we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease. We love Kaimuki and are so thankful for the past eight years spent in this amazing community. However, given the current public health and economic situation, we feel that this is the most prudent decision for our small non-profit organization right now.
So what happens next? Although we are currently unable to connect with all of you in person, we will continue to share helpful online art and sustainability resources through our e-newsletter, Facebook, Instagram, and our Art Explorium web page. We are also creating Art Explorium "Version 2.0," not limited to one physical location, but more nimble and with the ability to connect to different O`ahu communities, schools, and events. Please know that while our physical doors are closed, Art Explorium is definitely NOT closed. We are working on the most efficient, effective, and safe ways to continue offering affordable, earth-friendly art opportunities for keiki across the island.
We are so thankful for you and our entire community. As we look ahead to the future, we would appreciate you sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. We have developed a short survey and ask that you complete it to help us as we move forward. Mahalo for your time and consideration!
With fond aloha,
Heather Williams
Art Explorium Executive Director

Description
Nurturing tomorrow's creative thinkers
Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!
Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.
We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!
General Information
Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!
Notes
Hours and price subject to change without notice.
