Come visit us on Sunday mornings for a fun-filled Storytime! Enjoy our weekly themed books and crafts. We'll also sing your favorite children's songs, new and old. Your child will gain early literacy skills, break out of their shell, and have fun!
Appropriate for ages 3-5, but all ages are welcome!
All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
We have taken enhanced health and safety measures for you, our patrons, and our staff. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting and/or participating in library programming. Pirate and Princess Shell-ebration

Attention all buoys and gulls! We welcome all princes, princesses, and pirates aboard for an action-packed day! Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes if they wish!
• Princess and Pirates Storytime -- 10:30 AM
Ahoy Matey! We'll be reading princess and pirate books, singing fun songs, and getting silly all morning!
• Eyepatch and Crowns craft -- 11:00 AM
To be a pirate or a princess, you need to look the part! Make your very own eyepatch and crown out of simple materials directly after storytime!
• Take a Photo with a Princess -- 11:30 AM
Adorned in your new accessories, take a picture with a princess or in front of our pirate ship photo booth! Attendees are encouraged to dress up if they wish.
• Moana Movie Showing -- 12:00 PM
Enjoy Moana's seafaring journey across the ocean to restore the heart of Te Fiti.
• Sailor Knots and Ribbon Wands -- 2:00 PM
Try your hand at making mind-twisting sailor's knots and make a pretty ribbon wand!
• Shipwreck Scavenger Hunt -- All Day
Oh no! Your ship has run aground and all your treasure has gone missing! If you can find all the missing items and solve our riddle, then you can win a prize out of our treasure chest!

A mythic adventure set around 2,000 years ago across a series of islands in the South Pacific. The film follows the journey of a spirited teenager named Moana as she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui, and together they traverse the open ocean, encountering fiery creatures and impossible odds.
This film has been rated PG by the MPAA for peril, some scary images and brief thematic elements.

Sea Serpent Craft and Pirate's Booty Bracelets

ABOUT KAIMUKI LIBRARY
Welcome to the Kaimuki Public Library! Designed by local architect Shoso Kagawa, our library opened on June 17, 1965. Our busy regional library opens 6 days a week and is one of only 3 public libraries open on Sundays. In 2015, our library celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

Library Cards
You may apply for a library card at any Hawaii public library. The initial card is FREE for Hawaii residents. Cards are also free for military personnel and their dependents with a copy of orders. The resident card replacement fee is $5.00. Resident library cards must be renewed every five years. There is no charge for the renewal.
