Walk-in registration is offered to provide equitable opportunities for those without computer/internet access to register and enjoy DPR's fall program. Cash and check are accepted forms of payment for walk-in registration. For online payments, Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards are currently the only accepted form of payment.
Registration for Honolulu Botanical Garden activities will be announced in mid-August via the Honolulu Botanical Gardens and DPR social media feeds (Instagram and Facebook). Registration for those activities is separate and at different times from the above timetable.
"We are so excited to provide our communities with more accessible ways of connecting with your City parks and the excellent programs offered there," said DPR Director Laura H. Thielen. "The progression of the PROS system since its launch at the onset of the pandemic has been a testament to the collaboration between DPR and DIT. We are very grateful for their support, and for the patience of the community as we carefully introduced this system into various aspects of DPR's programming."
First launched in summer 2020 as a reservation system for the Koko Head Shooting Complex, PROS quickly evolved to include registration for free park programming, including the 2020 and 2021 Summer Fun programs. In April 2021, the system began managing reservations for the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, accommodating online payment for non-local visitors that following winter.
"When we began researching the in-house developed PROS software, we envisioned a ‘one-stop-shop' kind of service for all of your park needs, such as registration and permitting," said DIT Director Mark Wong. "The pandemic refocused our efforts on managing access to popular park facilities and programs at a time when crowd size was a significant concern. Now we are thrilled this software can continue to streamline operations and public interaction with the City, and are looking forward to next summer when we plan to offer Summer Fun registration primarily online."
If you haven't already done so, we encourage you to set-up your hnl.info account prior to the opening of registration in order to facilitate a smooth experience. Demand when registration opens will likely be high. You can set-up an hnl.info account by clicking here. In addition, the "Frequently Asked Questions" section on the top, right corner of the PROS website offers tutorial videos on how to create an account, how to register for the classes, and how to reset your password.
