  • Kapi‘olani Community College Office of Continuing Education and Training - Coming FEBRUARY 2023 Classes

Cyber Fundamentals and Security+ Certification Exam Prep

This fully online course is to prepare those interested in developing entry-level skills, knowledge and ability to protect and defend the network systems in a cybersecurity environment and interested in taking the CompTIA Security + Certification Exam which can lead to an entry-level position such as an Information Security Analyst. Cybercrime is one of the most significant and evolving threats to our ever-changing digital environment.

Course dates are February 4 - May 11, 2023. Live online sessions will be held on Saturdays from 6:00-7:00pm HST from February 4 - March 25 and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm HST from March 28 - May 11, 2023.

Prior Experience Required:

1. 1-2 years prior IT experience.

2. Successfully passed the Comp TIA A+ or IT Fundamentals Certification Exam or successfully passed the Introduction to IT and A+ Certification Exam Prep course offered at Kapiʻolani Community College.

3. This course is completely online and participants will need basic computer skills such as uploading and downloading files from the Internet.

4. Participants should also have reliable Internet access, Internet usage skills including accessing the Internet and navigating web pages.

Tuition assistance is available through the Hana Career Pathway Program which can cover 100% of the tuition and course materials for this course. To qualify for tuition assistance, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

State of Hawaiʻi resident

United States citizen or status as a permanent resident alien of the United States (have a green card)

Must submit an application to the Hana Career Pathways.
