WorkHawaii to host last Hiring Event of the year on November 4

HONOLULU -- Mayor Rick Blangiardi today announced that the Department of Community Services, WorkHawaii Division will be hosting its last Hiring Event of the year on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall.

Up to 150 employers, including government offices, for-profit businesses, and non-profit organizations, are invited to attend the Hiring Event. Additionally, WorkHawaii will provide a Resource Center onsite, with laptops and printers available for jobseekers to edit or print their resumes for employers and fill out digital job applications. The event is free for job seekers and employers, with $8 public parking at the Blaisdell Center.

"I am thrilled to see our community come together to connect job seekers with employers," said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. "We understand that a thriving community starts with opportunities for everyone. Our commitment to fostering economic growth and prosperity is unwavering, and events like these underscore our dedication to creating a stronger and more inclusive city.

Before the event, job seekers are encouraged to sign up for a free workshop with the WorkHawaii Division. Topics covered include applying for positions with the City & County of Honolulu, resume writing, and interview skills. Two sessions are offered at the WorkHawaii office in the Dole Cannery Office Building, Suite 700, on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Jobseekers can attend either the morning session from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. or the afternoon session from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. with the option to attend in-person or virtually.

"This event embodies our commitment to promoting economic prosperity and providing job seekers with a chance to secure meaningful employment, making the holiday season even brighter for families across Honolulu."
